Target for Tonight is a solitaire game that recreates Britain's Strategic Bombing Campaign against Nazi-occupied Europe during the Second World War. The game covers 1942-1945 when the British decided to use night area bombing against German target cities, and the Germans developed a cutting-edge night fighter defense system. Target for Tonight is designed to provide YOU, the player, with the ultimate gaming experience: depicting the same types of events and decision-making processes experienced by RAF pilots who flew the real-life night bombing missions.
Now, YOU are in command of an individual RAF bomber on an individual NIGHT MISSION over Hitler’s Third Reich. Choose to fly the four-engine Avro Lancaster, Short Stirling, Handley-Page Halifax heavy bomber or the twin-engine Vickers Wellington during the mission. Twelve campaigns are provided, each a series of individual missions to form the player's operational tour of duty. Just as it was in real life, the objective of the game for the player is to survive their operational tour of duty with the RAF.

A Truly Masterpiece!
A top-notch addition to my solitaire game collection! Not a week goes by when I risk my life (again) lifting a bomber into the night sky with hope that everyone will return to the base alive. Target for Tonight
This game you play as a bomber night pilot with the RAF. Your goal is to survive your tour of duty. Its a lot harder than it sounds. A lot of detail in this game can bog down some players. But I crave the level of detail and its rewarding. As a solo game its procedural and simple to play after a couple of missions. Game is very playable out of the box and if you have an interest in aviation you will enjoy the level of detail from this game.

Raid on Essen My First Mission
The interceptions started as soon as we hit the channel. A lone Me 110. Damaged the rudder but was soon driven off by Charlie the tail gunner. We were attacked 2 more times on the way to the target despite 100% cloud cover resulting in superficial damage and driven off. Over the target we were attacked by a JU 88 killing Charlie but not before Charlie and sent the Jerry down in a fireball. On the bomb run the target was covered by ground fog a mixed blessing that hampered the AAA and searchlights. That did not stop another 110 from finding us. It dove on us guns blazing, knocking out the nose compartment oxygen and the compartment heat.....

Pleasantly surprised!
Was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I received my order! Also, like the quality of the components and artwork used. Additionally, like the “crossover rules”, allowing use of all the bombers of all the different games in the series interchangeably!

The Deadly Skies
I have always been fascinated by the determination and courage of the crews of Bomber Command. This game really captures the feel of the lone plane in the bomber stream, fighting an individual battle. It's an action drama in a box.

Target for Tonight
Having purchased Target for Today, this was a simple decision to buy. I love referring to charts, which is not for everybody granted. With Target for Today, the damage charts are all in the same book and you need to make sure your referencing the correct aircraft model. This version includes a manual for each aircraft. That in itself is a step up. But, not just a plain manual, but each has a historical look to it like what the pilots would've had during training. That's why I don't mind paying a little extra for these games. They've gone the extra mile and I'm more than willing to pay for those efforts! Great game!

Great game
I bought this as the subject matter interests me. I own Target for Today so know the basic mechanics already. But this game has me in suspense with each roll of the dice. Easy to learn and with lots of detail. I recommend it.

First Impressions
Quite detailed, but I get the impression not much combat. When it does occur, it can be lengthy and lethal. The ECM in this game takes getting used to, which once engaged, causes the combat to be decisive. I'll give it a go when time is more forgiving.
