Miracle at Dunkerque is a solitaire game designed to recreate the tense situation within the Dunkirk perimeter during those last eight days in May and June 1940. The game design aims to capture the spirit of the difficult decision-making challenges faced by Allied commanders as they attempted to extricate the remnants of Britain’s last field army from certain capture or death. Historically-based Event Cards drive the action and create varying circumstances each turn. The besieging German forces (army, air and naval units) are controlled by these cards, which are specifically designed to place constant pressure on the player. Allied Player Actions must be allocated each turn for the defense of the perimeter, the creation of evacuee units and the loading of these evacuees from the beaches and moles to available ships and then sailed onward to the safety of England. You obviously cannot save all the Allied units, so you must choose who stays to fight and who shall attempt to escape in order to continue the struggle against the Nazis another day.

Miracle at Dunkerque
Hermann Luttmans games are so well done! The map, components, and the rule book are fantastic. This game will not be easy to win, but that’s the challenge I like in a game. Trying to do better than the last play through. Really glad this is in my collection!

Miracle at Dunkirk
This is an outstanding game. I really appreciated the attention to detail while being an extremely playable game. I found the charts to have most of the information to keep play progressing without a lot of checking the rulebook as so many solitaire games suffer. Finally, I learned more about Dunkirk itself through some of the game details.

Dunkirk
Beautiful! Components are well made (despite the side reversal in the allied counters. I find the rules easy to understand and laid out well so any questions during game play were easy to look up. So far my first play is exciting. Just need more time to get more in to the game.

Miracle at Dunkerque
I had played the previous version of this game, and enjoyed it, and so when I heard Legion was republishing it I knew it would be improved and even better. I was not disappointed, everything from the map to the other components is much improved and the game is beautiful. Very glad I purchased it.
